Gestern hat unsere navabista Linh das Buch The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace von Gary Chapman und Paul E. White vorgestellt.
Mangelnde Wertschätzung ist einer der Hauptgründe, wieso Mitarbeiter ein Unternehmen verlassen. Daher ist es wichtig, dass die Kollegen merken, dass sie und ihre Arbeit gewertschätzt werden! Laur Chapman und White gibt es fünf verschiedene “Sprachen”, auf denen Menschen Anerkennung zeigen, aber diese auch bevorzugt erhalten. Linh führte uns durch die verschiedenen Sprachen und empfahl und sogar einen Test, der die eigene bevorzugte Spracht der Anerkennung identifiziert.
Bei navabi legen wir großen Wert auf Knowledge-Sharing mit dem Team von Themen, die die navabistas interessieren. Jeden Monat organisieren wir eine “navabi University”, wo ein navabista oder auch eine externe Person eine Präsentation oder einen Workshop vorbereiten über ein Thema, für das sie brennen.
So garantieren wir, dass niemand jemals aufhört zu lerne 🙂
One of the most frequent causes of death is sudden cardiac death, with approximately 80,000 to 100,000 cases per year. The time after this until the start of the resuscitation measures is decisive for the survival of the affected person.
Especially in such emergencies it is important to act quickly and confidently, because the probability of survival decreases by about 10% per minute without resuscitation. However, if a cardiac massage is performed immediately, up to 50% of those affected can return to spontaneous circulation.
That’s why we at navabi have received professional training from Jannis Kessels to take the right measures in an emergency.
navabi is an international team, so new employees move to Aachen from abroad. During a city tour we were able to translate Aachen into different languages: Aix-la-Chappelle (fr), Aken (dutch), Akwisgran (poln), Aquisgrán (sp.), Aquisgrana (it, port), Cáchy (Czech). So the name derives from Latin “Aquae or Aquis”, or more often Aquisgrani.
The Romans already knew it: hot springs flow in Aachen, here you can live well. And so Aachen can look back on 2000 years of history with many sights. The Romans settled here in Aachen because they appreciated the thermal springs that lie in the middle of today’s city centre.
The Katschhof, a secret hint among the sights of the city of Aachen and one of the most beautiful squares in Europe, also radiates this charm of the historical of the pulsating student city of Aachen in the midst of the present: on one side the cathedral, where the royal coronations of the Middle Ages took place, on the other the Gothic town hall, on the foundations of Charlemagne’s Palatinate. And all around, self-confident and worth seeing town houses of the last centuries add a very special stimulating flair to strolling in Aachen’s pedestrian zone.

To celebrate the end of the first trimester and everyone’s hard work, we organized a barbecue at the recreation area Walheim for everyone at navabi! We had a great afternoon and evening grilling, playing games, and relaxing! Here some pictures to get an impression of the celebration!
On Thursday 26.04 a group of running-enthusiastic navabistas represented #teamnavabi at the B2Run in Aachen! There were more than 3.600 participants in total from around 250 companies. The 5.2 km route went through and around the CHIO-Reitstadion. Even though beforehand it looked like it was going to rain, we were able to finish the run with the sun in our faces and were rewarded with a well-deserved medal!!
navabi is growing and welcoming new employees! We would like to welcome them in our team and hope they have a great start at navabi!!
We try to make the onboarding process as smooth as possible. Not only by giving new employees a clear overview of what their first day, week, and month will look like, but also any other help that they might need for their move to Germany and Aachen and settling in.
Every new employee has dedicated buddies at navabi that provide introductions into our existing processes and structures, help to get to know and understand the navabi culture, support integration in the team, help them to succeed, and build their dream job.
Of course we make sure that the desk of every new employee is ready and represents a warm welcome!
navabi university is organized every other week to internalize learning and growth into the navabi DNA. The idea is that we take the knowledge we have, bundle it in key presentations, and share it with each other to facilitate learning and growth. This way, not only individuals gain knowledge, but also the organization as a whole. People from within navabi give universities, but we also try to have external speakers once every quarter.

Last week, Denise held a presentation on Team Jour Fixes and the Engagement Pulse, followed by a workshop where all navabistas were divided in groups to think about ways to improve employee engagement in specific areas.
